Business Purchase Prizes Announced!

Northern Print's annual studio artists' show 'Northern Footprints' has attracted support from 7 businesses in the region.

Northern Print have organised the purchase prize scheme for the last 4 years;  local businesses were approached and invited to offer purchase prizes during this popular annual show which presents original prints by studio artists all measuring 1 square foot. The scheme helps to support the studio and the artists using it and the businesses get to own a fantastic original print of their choosing, so it's an all round winner!

The prizes were announced at the exhibition opening on 25 October by Tony Durcan, Director of Culture, Libraries and Lifelong Learning at Newcastle City Council.

The purchase prizes were as follows:

Bishop Skinner Insurance Brokers - winner is 'Angel' by Barbara Kennard

Do It For You - winner is 'Abstraction' by Joanne Brown

Green Dragon - winner is 'One' by Michelle Johnson

Peter Weldon & Co - winner is 'Shoreline I' by Donald Wilkinson

Reid Framing - winner is 'One' by Michelle Johnson and 'Oak Tree at Station 15' by Anne Proctor

Sumo - winner is 'A Walk in the Park' by Janet Dickson

Toffee Factory - winner is '...til the darkness fades...' by Popgrafik

The exhibition has already been seen by hundreds of visitors and will be on show until 21 December 2011. All works are available for sale and the gallery also offers Own Art, an interest free arts loan which enables you to pay for artwork in 10 equal monthly instalments. There are also some great gifts available in the gallery from printed matchboxes to tea towels, gift tags, books, jewellery and even magnet sets - something for everyone.

Gallery is open Wed - Sat 12noon-4pm or by appointment.
