Northern Print has unveiled one of its most diverse exhibitions to date with the opening of Northern Footprints on Friday 14th November – a collection of prints by studio users exploring beautiful, quirky and often intriguing themes, all brought to life within one square foot of paper.

Visitors to the gallery will be treated to landscapes, seascapes, exterior and interior studies alongside snake skins, beetles, midges and pies and even a bare bottom and a dog carrying a candle! Over 35 artists took part in the square-foot print challenge, and the exhibition includes work from critically-acclaimed print makers Eunice Routledge, Imi Maufe, Anja Percival, Lee Turner and Donald Wilkinson, as well as many other old favourites and new faces.
Northern Print Director, Anna Wilkinson, said: “Visitors can certainly expect the unexpected at our latest exhibition. There is bound to be something in the collection to tantalise all tastes – from those who favour more traditional, scenic works to those who prefer something much more leftfield. It’s a celebration of the artistic talent and diversity that is nurtured within the studio, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the public’s response to such an eclectic range of prints.”
The techniques used also represent the wide range of work being produced at Northern Print, with wood engravings, screen prints, etchings, mono prints, mezzotints, relief prints and digital prints all sharing wall space within the award-winning gallery.
All work is for sale, with many pieces coming in at the £100 mark and eligible for the Art Council’s interest free Own Art scheme. Alongside Northern Footprints will be a range of gift ideas including jewellery, textiles and accessories, making Northern Print the perfect location for sourcing special and unusual presents for loved ones.
