Our new home in Ouseburn, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Northern Print was started in 1994 on Fish Quay, North Shields.
In the Autumn of 2006 we moved to Ouseburn in Newcastle upon Tyne. Our presence makes a significant contribution to the regeneration of the Ouseburn Valley, one of Newcastle upon Tyne's most vibrant new cultural quarters.
The new facilities are housed across two floors in the 3,000 sq ft renovated Steenbergs building. This is part of the Woods Potteries site which is being developed as a flagship workspace scheme by Project North East.
The relocation and innovative, £400k fit-out will provide even more opportunities to develop the horizons of novice and experienced printmakers. Its accessibility broadens our audience potential.
Northern Print's move to Ouseburn has been overseen by Mosedale Gillatt Architects. It was funded by Northern Rock Foundation, Arts Council England, Newcastle City Council, Tyne and Wear Partnership; One NorthEast; Awards for All; Business Link with assistance from Ward Hadaway.
Proposals for art commissions in the building include designs for formica incorporated into a reception desk by Joanna Kinnersly-Taylor and printed porcelain tiles for the WC by Paul Scott.
