Gallery

Northern Print’s gallery is a beautiful and welcoming space devoted to showing the very best in contemporary printmaking. The exhibitions change every two months and include original prints from regional artists as well as bringing world-class printmaking to the North East.
For details about current exhibitions go to the 'News' section on the Home page, or email us on enquiry@northernprint.org.uk to find out about up and coming exhibitions and events.

There is a huge selection of original prints available to browse through, and with prices starting at £50 there’s certainly something to suit every taste and budget. There is also a changing selection of printed items such as ceramics, jewellery, belts and books.
All Northern Print’s gallery staff know about printmaking and can help you make an informed choice. They can also arrange framing for you too.

Northern Print is registered with the Own Art scheme and can arrange interest-free loans to buy art. This is easy to do and can be done on-line while you enjoy a coffee.
Northern Print welcomes children. There is always plenty of paper, stamps and ink pads in the gallery to entertain the younger gallery-goer.

Buying original prints
Northern Print has a huge selection of prints available, the largest in the North East. There's always lots of work on display in the gallery. Why not click on 'Artists' to have a browse through our web gallery and then come and visit? Because it's a working studio there's always something new that won't have been posted on this website.
Building an art collection is a uniquely satisfying thing to do and buying an original print is a great way to start one. With prices from £50, it's an economical, original way to put something on your walls. A print you love will give you pleasure for many years. And, of course, what you buy may well increase in value. Most people who start this way build collections which reflect their interests and individuality and make their homes all the more interesting. It's easier than ever to do through the interest-free Own Art scheme which lends money to buy works of art.

Purchases from the gallery supports the work of our artists, but also helps to fund other Northern Print initiatives.

At Northern Print, we develop initiatives to engage artists and audiences in contemporary printmaking. These often link with the gallery and education programme.

These projects are frequently developed in partnership with other arts and non-arts organisations and have engaged with subjects as diverse as science and art, heritage, geography and industry.
