Derek Besant (b.1950, Canada) has represented Canada in numerous biennales including: Art as Culture International Video Biennale, Galleria Via Bartolomeo, Rome, Italy (2009); Biennale International Trois-Rivières, Québec, Canada (2009); Acqui Prize IX International Biennale, Cremona Art Museum, Italy (2009); The Sharjah Art Museum International Biennial, UAE (2003).

Touring exhibitions include: 15 Restless Nights (2006/09); Body Of Water (2006-08).

Lives and works in Canada.
