£5000 Northern Print Award

A cash prize awarded to one artist.



WINNER: Wenhai Zhang

Friends of the Laing Art Gallery Purchase Prize

Julie Milne, Curator at the Laing Art Gallery in conjunction with the panel selected work for purchase and inclusion in the Laing Art Gallery collection.


WINNERS: Glynis Mills and Emma Stibbon


V&A Print Prize (V&A Website Feature)*

The winning print will be featured on V&A website as a recent acquisition with text about the print by Gill Saunders, Senior Curator (Prints).

The selected print was donated by the artist to the V&A collection.

Nexus Art on Transport Commission Prize*

A selected artist’s work was commissioned for display on the concourse wall (dimensions 2.5m x 10m ) at Byker Metro Station from 26 June to 18 September 2009. Northern Print International Residency Prize*

This was a short residency open to non-UK based artists. This prize includes travel and accommodation to use Northern Print’s printmaking studio in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Glasgow Print Studio and WASPS Residency Prize*

A month residency prize including accommodation for an artist at the new Glasgow Print Studio, part of the Trongate 103 development.

The Solution Group Website Design Prize*
